At Rio Creek Airport, we want to preserve an interest in aviation that began on the sands of Kitty Hawk over 100 years ago. Because of this, our goal is to provide a friendly and affordable family flying environment and camping experience.
Now in our 42nd year, Rio Creek Airport has been home to numerous good causes in the past including: Boy Scouts of America, Lutheran Boy Pioneers, FFA fund raisers, the EAA Young Eagles Program and many more. In the summer of 1999, we added on to our clubhouse to facilitate our growing necessity. In the summer of 2002, we added a third hangar which will house more aircraft in addition to serving as shelter during airport events. In addition to the growing interest in airplanes, the campground increased from 14 to 25 campsites with water and power being added to each site. In 2015 our new activities building was built and will be finished inside in early 2016. We plan to have the all of our activities in this new building, including the Fly-In.
