2005 Wings & Things Fun Day

On September 17, 2005 the Rio Creek Aviation Foundation (RCAF) held its 1st annual "Wings & Things Kids Fun Day" at Rio Creek. It was a day to get kids involved in aviation and give them a knowledge of aircraft and what it takes to fly them.

The kids learned the 10 basic parts of an airplane did crossword puzzles and word searches quizzing them about the parts they had just learned. They also got to build a rubber band powered airplane and fly it.

The Rio Creek Aviation Foundation was formed in 2004 with the purpose of fostering a love of flying for young and old alike in Northeast Wisconsin. Based at the Rio Creek International Airport, the heart of aviation in Kewaunee County, the foundation promotes aviation through educational programs, fly-ins, Young Eagles days and other aviation-oriented activities.
